Jarden Corporation says its results for the fourth quarter of 2011 should show a big increase in net income to $205-210 million from $46.7 million in the same period a year earlier, with total revenues up by between 2 and 3 percent to a range of $1,725-1,735 million. It did not offer a breakdown from its Outdoor Solutions segment, comprising brands such as Coleman, K2, Marmot and Rawlings, but indicated that the results were achieved in spite of unseasonably mild weather. For the full year, its various segments probably delivered earnings of $785 million to $790 million on a sales increase of 11 percent to $6.68 billion. The group is readying a so-called Dutch auction to purchase back $500 million of its own shares at a price range of $30 to $33.
