JD Sports Fashion has agreed in principle to acquire five of the six Made in Sport stores operating in France and plans to convert them to the JD format, starting in the autumn, according to sport-guide.com.  The Made in Sport chain had been created by the Printemps department store group, which is being sold to investors from Qatar, to market mainly team sports products. Meanwhile, JD is set to launch a chain of 16 stores in the Netherlands, starting with a unit in Utrecht, following the previously reported acquisition of Setpoint, a Dutch chain of menswear stores, from We Fashion and the signing of two or three other leases.
