Jérôme Valentin has been appointed general manager of Cycleurope. The 53-year-old executive, who was most recently the general manager of Uniross Batteries, based in Paris, takes the place of Tony Grimaldi, who remains president of the Cycleurope and vice chairman of its family-owned parent company in Sweden, Grimaldi Industry Group, chaired by his father Salvatore. The younger Grimaldi became president and chief executive of Cycleurope in 2000. Lately, he has been travelling back and forth every month between Sweden and France, where the company has two manufacturing plants. Prior to Uniross, Valentin held executive positions in France, Singapore and China for other industrial companies such as Saft, Tyco Electronics and Schindler.
