John Forzani, the former professional footballer who founded and built up Canada's largest sporting goods retailer until its sale to Canadian Tire three years ago, died in a California hospital on Oct. 31 at the age of 67, following a massive heart attack. Among other retail operations, Forzani was the Intersport master licensee for Canada and acted as chairman of Intersport International Corporation between 2003 and 2009.
