Johnson Health Tech suffered a net loss of 89.7 million Taiwan dollars (€2.5m-$3.1m) in 2017 against a net profit of NT$19.5 million. Excluding foreign exchange and other extraordinary items, the company's net income declined by 82 percent to NY$130.6 million (€3.6m-$4.5m), as an expansion of 0.9 percentage points in the gross margin to 47.2 percent was offset by an increase of 3.3 percentage point in operating expenses to 46.5 percent of sales. The turnover declined by 3 percent to NT$19.5 billion (€540.3m-$667.6m). Sales increased by 4 percent in North America to NT$8.74 billion (€242.2m-$299.2m). They declined by 14 percent in Europe to NT$5.48 billion (€151.9m-$187.6m) and by 6 percent in Asia to NT$4.3 billion (€119.2m-$147.2m). In the rest of the world, they went up by 24 percent to NT$911.7 million (€25.3m-$31.2m).
