Karstadt Warenhaus has hired two more managers to support its omni-channel retail strategy. Marco Werner became chief digital officer at the start of last week, in charge of Karstadt.de and customer relationship management. He previously held similar jobs at Tchibo and Fressnapf. Jens Diekmann started with Karstadt at the beginning of this year, taking care of strategic project management and the Crosschannel division. He previously worked for Accenture and then Douglas, a perfume retail brand, where he was in charge of Crosschannel, digitalization and business development. Both of them are reporting to Stephan Fanderl, Karstadt's chief executive. Klaus Haensch, the retailer's head of e-commerce, is taking over leadership of the home, toys and electronics categories. He remains in charge of the online department store business, and particularly the integration between offline and online retailing.
