La Fabrique du Ski has raised €320,000, with a contribution of 53 percent from private investors and 47 percent from a regional French banking entity, the Crédit Agricole Sud Rhône Alpes. Christian Alary, who created the company in 2014, remains the majority shareholder. A former executive at Rossignol and Decathlon, among others, Alary created La Fabrique du Ski as a French manufacturer of high-end skis. He previously worked for Ramp, running the business and its plant in Utah. Established in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse, near Grenoble, the plant for La Fabrique du Ski uses unusual materials such as bamboo, and the skis are customized. Alary said in a statement that the extra capital would enable La Fabrique du Ski to accelerate its projects. The brand sells its skis through its own online store and it gained exposure at the Olympic Games in PyeongChang as the company behind the skis worn by Marie Martinod, a French freestyle skier who won the silver medal in halfpipe. The fundraising was organized by Acta Finance.
