Crocs has sued former executive Kellen McCarvel and his company Joybees in a Colorado district court. The company alleges McCarvel left Crocs with several thousand highly confidential trade secrets that he downloaded onto a personal thumb drive and then used to build a competing shoe company. Some of the documents allegedly included detailed marketing plans, financials, customer lists and footwear quality and performance tests. The lawsuit seeks a finding that McCarvel violated federal and state trade secret laws and breached his employment contract and seeks an injunction, damages and fees.
