The Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (Fesi) and the Moving Schools Alliance are working together to promote the European School Sport Day (ESSD), the main event of the #BeActive European Week of Sport. This year’s ESSD is scheduled for a requisite 120 minutes of activity (in several sessions, if necessary) on Sept. 25. Events can take place on school grounds or be streamed live to students who are still under national Covid-19 quarantines. Last year’s ESSD boasted the participation of about three million children at 9,000 schools in 44 countries on four continents. The live-stream schedule will be announced in August-September. Schools may also conduct online sessions as they see fit. The ESSD is coordinated by the Hungarian School Sport Federation (HSSF), the European Physical Education Association, Youth Sport Trust International, the International Sport and Culture Association, BG Be Active, V4Sport, and national coordinators in more than 40 countries.
