France’s minister of sports and Olympic and Paralympic Games, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, has announced the creation of a “national committee to strengthen ethics and democratic life in sport.” The committee will comprise qualified personalities from all horizons, the minister said. Once installed, it is expected to present proposals for a reform of the French sports movement by next autumn. The committee’s activity will revolve around three axes: A more ethical, more democratic and more protective governance of sport. Its work will feed changes in the regulatory, statutory and legislative framework to be implemented after Paris 2024.
