EEP Capital, which describes itself as the first venture-capital fund devoted to the sport, has purchased the first pádel franchise in Los Angeles. The team will be playing within the Pro Padel League, the professional league in the U.S.
EEP Capital is tied to and shares management with EE Padel (EEP), itself the result of a merger in 2021 between the court manufacturer Eljoi Padel and the pádel grass, turf and accessories supplier EcoNatura, with contributions from external investors. EEP is headquartered in Spain, employs 40 in Europe and is “looking for local partners” in the U.S.
