A framework agreement between the PGA Tour and the Saudi Arabia-backed LIV Golf league for the men’s golf circuits to merge was announced on June 6, and the two parties had originally set Dec. 31, 2023, as the deadline for the conclusion of the deal. Merger talks have now been extended beyond that deadline, the New York Times has reported, citing people familiar with the negotiations. According to the report, the two sides are considering a one-month extension, but this could be further prolonged as no new formal deadline has been set.
