The World Padel Championship this year for both men and women will once again be held in Qatar. In 2021, the country hosted the Middle East and Asia’s first padel world championship after it was held in Europe and Latin America. The venue for the 2022 event will once again be the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex in Doha, like in 2021. The men’s competition will see 38 teams, including host country Qatar, while the women’s competition will see 34 teams. Earlier this year, the Gulf country hosted the Qatar Major 2022 padel tournament. The XVI World Padel Championship later this year will start just three weeks before the FIFA World Cup 2022, scheduled to take place also in Qatar from Nov. 21 to Dec. 18, 2022.
