Leki Lenhart GmbH, the German manufacturer of ski poles, will sell its 22.4 percent stake in Reusch to the latter’s shareholders by next May 21, and focus on its own glove business, which it launched in 1998. Leki purchased the shares when the British Pentland Group (Speedo, Ellesse, Berghaus, Lacoste Footwear) sold Reusch to a group of investors including parts of the management, Leki and Reusch’s Italian distributor, Erich Weitzmann. Sources say that it is very likely that Erich Weitzmann is very likely to take over Leki’s shares, more or less doubling its shareholding in the brand, which currently has its head office in Valencia, Spain. Weitzmann has been distributing Reusch for many years in Italy, adding the distribution in Austria in 2005. The importer distributes various outdoor products on the Italian market including Deuter backpacks, Kamik footwear, Hestra gloves and Tubbs snowshoes.
