Lenzing has reported a revenue increase of 9.4 percent to €1.7 billion for the first nine months of 2017, mainly driven by higher prices for its fibers. During the third quarter, the company launched Tencel Luxe, a premium fiber, and opened an innovation center in Hong Kong. Lenzing is building a Tencel plant in Thailand, and is expanding its facilities in Heiligenkreuz, Austria and Mobile, Alabama. The fiber manufacturer expects a more challenging market during the upcoming quarters. Fiber demand is expected to remain high in 2018, but forecasts indicate substantial price increases for viscose and cotton next year.
