Life Fitness, a division of Brunswick Corp., has announced a 50,000-square-foot expansion for its factory in Ramsey, Minnesota, which will bring the surface of the facility to more than 330,000 square feet. The expansion was decided after production at the factory nearly doubled over the last six years. The addition will enable the company to accommodate anticipated international growth, while offering customers a greater level of customization and enhanced customer service. Work is scheduled for completion in March 2016. The factory currently produces around 140 Life Fitness and Hammer Strength fitness equipment products as well as welded components for Life Fitness cardiovascular fitness equipment that are shipped to its facility in Franklin Park, Illinois for full assembly. Life Fitness acquired the facility in 1998 when it was 60,000 square feet. The plant more than quadrupled in 2000 amid global company growth. Besides the plants in Ramsey and Franklin Park, Life Fitness, which is headquartered in Rosemont, Illinois, also has factories in Falmouth, Kentucky, Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bristol and Delavan, Wisconsin, as well as Kiskoros, Hungary.
