WHP Global has announced a partnership with MAP Active (MAPA) for the Lotto brand. Under the terms of the agreement, MAP Active will serve as Lotto’s regional partner across Southeast Asia to further expand the retail footprint of Lotto’s apparel, footwear and accessories business. The partnership involves an omnichannel approach that includes standalone stores, wholesale and e-commerce distribution. WHP Global, based in New York, acquired the global trademarks for Italian sports brand Lotto in August 2021. MAP Active, headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia, and a subsidiary of PT. Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI), operates more than 40 exclusive brands across 1,199 stores in over 100 ASEAN cities and 10 online sites. MAP Active has three main business lines – sports, leisure, and kids – that are sold via mono and wholly-owned multi-brand store formats including Planet Sports, Sports Station, Golf House, and Kidz Station. Lotto is currently distributed in more than 100 countries. The brand already has a strong business in Malaysia through a long-term license agreement with Prestige Sports. The new partnership with MAP Active will focus on growing the Lotto brand in MAP’s home market of Indonesia as well as additional markets like Vietnam, Philippines, Thailand and Singapore.
