Lululemon Athletica Inc. has appointed Isabel Ge Mahe to its board of directors, effective immediately. Ge Mahe is vice president and general manager of Greater China at Apple, where she provides leadership and coordination for Apple’s entire team in China. In this role, she has played a key role in developing new China-specific features for Apple products that enable the company to provide customers with innovative products and technology solutions. She joined Apple in 2008 as vice president of wireless technologies, overseeing the development of cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, location and motion technologies for products across the company. Before Apple, she served as vice president of wireless software engineering at Palm and held key leadership positions at other technology-focused companies. Ge Mahe joined Starbucks’ board of directors in 2019 and was named to Fortune’s 50 Most Powerful Women list in 2021 and 2022.
“Isabel is a seasoned executive with global experience across technology, retail and product development,” said Martha Morfitt, chief executive officer of Lululemon Athletica. She further commented that the company was counting on Ge Mahe’s extensive expertise in product development and leadership “as well as her deep knowledge of the business and guests in China,” which will be invaluable as Lululemon continues to grow and execute its international expansion strategy. In July, the Canadian sportswear retailer officially launched its flagship digital store at J Shop to expand its foothold in the Chinese market.
