Macron is the new technical sponsor of the Welsh rugby club of Cardiff Blues. The club competes in the Pro14 league, as do Edinburgh Rugby, Glasgow Warriors and Scarlets, also backed by Macron. The Italian sporting apparel company replaces Canterbury, which has been Cardiff Blues' kit supplier for more than 10 years. The new 2018-19 Cardiff Blues home and alternate jerseys will make their retail debut on pre-sale in early July, while the European jersey will be launched at a supporters' event whose details are yet to be confirmed. The deal between Macron and Cardiff Blues will expire in 2022. Macron, based in Bologna, already sponsors Italy's and Scotland's rugby national teams, both of which are competing in the Six Nations, in addition to other rugby clubs across Europe.
