Maier Sports, the German sports apparel firm acquired by the Findors Investor equity firm in August 2011, reports another increase in pre-orders for the coming spring/summer season. Pre-orders for spring/summer 2014 went up by 29 percent as compared to the previous year and for spring/summer 2015 they have increased once again by 14 percent as compared to the previous year. The increase is mainly due to orders placed by traditional sporting goods retailers and higher sales to foreign distributors. Pre-orders placed by existing clients increased by 20 percent. Maier has started to work with 120 new retail partners for the coming year. Pre-orders for trousers and jackets have risen considerably. The biggest increase in pre-orders for spring/summer 2015 is for functional shirts and mid-layers, up by about 50 percent as compared to the previous year. Orders in Switzerland have risen by almost 50 percent and a strong increase in pre-orders has also been recorded in the Austrian market. The outdoor segment accounts for 60 percent of the overall product line offered by Maier Sports, while the ski segment accounts for the remaining 40 percent.
