Marcel Korner will become the new CEO of Zurich-based TSG International AG, a specialist in protective equipment for action sports originally founded by Titus Dittmann in Germany in 1988, effective Oct. 1, 2022. He succeeds Ruedi Herger, who, together with his partners, took over the company from Titus AG in 2005 and died unexpectedly last February. Korner will report directly to the board of directors of TSG International.
Korner has many years of experience in marketing, sales and management in the sports, consumer goods and media industries. He joins TSG from sporting goods manufacturer Amer Sports, where he was most recently responsible for the global DTC business of winter sports brands Atomic, Armada, Salomon and Volant. Before that, Korner spent five years as head of strategy & business development at Ringier and Ringier Axel Springer Media. Between 2002 and 2009, he worked at Swiss Snowsports, JTI and NZZ in marketing, product and project management.
“I am delighted that we have now found a competent and experienced CEO for the company in Marcel Korner,” said Nadja Herger-Bondarenko, head of marketing communications and co-owner of TSG International AG. “I am sure that he will successfully develop TSG further in Ruedi’s spirit.” Paying tribute to her late husband, she added: “The sudden death of Ruedi shocked us all. He played a key role in shaping TSG for over 20 years, both with his know-how and his passion for action sports.”
