During the first three quarters of the year, Cambodia exported a total of 1.5 million bicycles, worth nearly $400 million, according to the latest figures from the country’s Ministry of Commerce and as reported by the Khmer Times. More than half were shipped to the European Union (EU), with 360,000 units to Germany, 270,000 to the U.K., 150,000 to Belgium and 90,000 to the Netherlands. Half a million were shipped to the U.S. Australia, which took in 90,000 units from January to September, also represents an important market for Cambodian bikes. Cambodia is still the largest exporter of regular bicycles to the EU. The country has held this leading position since 2017, when it overtook Taiwan.
