McDavid, the maker of protective equipment for athletes among others, is starting up a twice-yearly newsletter discussing the resources available for sports participants at any level to stay safe. It will be targeted at athletic trainers, coaches, physical therapists, sports medicine clinics and professionals. The first newsletter is already out, mailed to a 40,000-strong list and ready for distribution at various trade shows and conferences throughout the year. It includes articles about preventing youth injuries – and how McDavid can help – the company's social media tools, finding protective gear in retail locations and McDavid's HexPad technology.
