Messe München has reported more than 80,000 daily passages through the turnstiles at the latest edition of Ispo Munich, which ran on Jan. 24-27. The business climate appeared to be good in spite of the lack of snow in the last months of 2015, as retailers had ordered cautiously for the season. They were probably attracted by the numerous novelties at the fair. Company officials declined to provide additional details except to say that 87 percent of all the visitors came from outside Germany and that visitor numbers were up from Italy, Switzerland and Austria. Many visitors came from Russia and Ukraine. Pre-registration increased by 5 percent, but total attendance was more or less stable as compared to last year, indicating that visitors apparently spent on average fewer days at the fair than a year ago. The second and third days of the show were busier than the first and fourth ones.
