Mike Ashley and Stephen Rubin are the only two Europeans on SGI's global list of the top 10 tycoons in sporting goods. The majority shareholder of Sports Direct International ranks fifth, with an estimated worth of $2.5 billion. Two slots further down is Rubin of the Pentland Group, with $1.6 billion. The list is still predictably and easily topped by Phil Knight of Nike, with $13.1 billion. Behind him is Chip Wilson, the founder of Lululemon, who rose all the way up to the second spot with $3.1 billion. Then comes Jim Jannard, the founder of Oakley; ahead of Ed Stack of Dick's Sporting Goods; Ashley; Jim Davis of New Balance; Rubin; and Under Armour's Kevin Plank. The Boyle, Greenberg and Tsai families share the ninth spot ahead of Paul Fireman, Reebok's former strongman.
