Mizuno is introducing its Wave Neo Collection, described by the brand as “its first running shoes that balance carbon impact” and as the collection with “the lowest environmental impact in Mizuno’s history.” The carbon impact during the product life cycle of the Wave Neo Collection will be balanced by the amount of CO2 absorbed through afforestation, making it the first in Mizuno’s history to balance CO2 impact, the company has explained.

The collection comprises the Wave Neo Wind and Wave Neo Ultra running shoes, manufactured with environmentally friendly materials like recycled polyester and plant-derived materials. It also features non-dyed knit upper materials, which use less water and therefore have a reduced environmental impact. About 50,000 pairs of shoes from the Wave Neo Collection will be marketed worldwide during the current fiscal year.
