Japanese brand Mizuno is launching the new black edition of its sustainable Wave Neo collection. The Wave Neo running shoes use environmentally friendly materials such as recycled polyester and plant-derived materials.

The new black color model also features Dope Dyed knit upper materials that use less water, reducing environmental impact during production.

The carbon impact during the product life cycle of the Wave Neo Collection will be balanced by CO2 absorbed through afforestation. Mizuno partnered with the US National Forest Foundation and planted around 50,000 trees in the Boise National Forest in Idaho. Over their lifetime, the trees can absorb the amount of CO2 emitted during the product life cycle of these running shoes, according to Mizuno.
