Molten has started a management carousel in Europe, with Markus Wedler rising to the position of general manager in Germany and Kijo Matoba becoming the new managing director of Molten Europe, based in Düsseldorf. Matoba is replacing Norihiko Kamiya. Wedler's predecessor, Thorsten Pletz, has been appointed general manager in charge of exports to East European countries. Wedler has been with the Japanese brand since 2006, most recently as a sales manager for Southern Germany. The Japanese company produces official game balls for basketball, volleyball, handball and football for various top divisions, as well as some European and world championships and the Olympic Games. From the 2018/19 season, it will also provide the balls for Uefa's Europa League.
