Spanish sneaker brand Munich is opening a new flagship store at Calle de Fuencarral 5, in the premises previously occupied by a Mr Wonderful stationery shop. Calle de Fuencarral is one of Spain’s capital’s main shopping destinations and tourist areas. The new store will be the largest in Munich’s retail network.

Munich ended the last fiscal year ended March 31 with revenues of €74.3 million and nearly 30 stores. The brand is sold in more than 50 markets. In the short term, the company is reportedly planning to open its first international subsidiary in France, according to Palco 23.

Munich was founded in 1939 by Luís Berneda in Sant Boi de Llobregat, near Barcelona. Berneda was indeed the initial name of the brand, modified to Munich in 1964.
