Spanish sneaker brand Munich has opened a 250-sqm store at the Viladecans The Style Outlets shopping center near Barcelona. It is the brand’s largest store in Spain. Alongside Munich sneakers, the store sells vegan footwear from the Duuo brand, also owned by the Berneda family. The new opening brings the number of Munich stores to 29.
According to Palco 23, the brand plans to open two more stores in the year’s second half. Munich saw its sales jump by 40 percent to €74.3 million in 2022, primarily driven by padel, international and stronger domestic sales.
Munich was founded in 1939 by Luís Berneda in Sant Boi de Llobregat, near Barcelona. Berneda was indeed the initial name of the brand, modified to Munich in 1964.
