Muntagnard, a young startup from Switzerland, has been offering its latest two sustainable products – the MIUtec Iso Vest and the MIUtec Iso Hooded Jacket – exclusively and internationally on Kickstarter since Aug. 24. The company uses Kickstarter to ensure that only as many products are produced as are actually in demand and that enough production capacity can be planned for all interested parties. Thus, Muntagnard is taking a further step toward ”made to order.”
Dario Grünenfelder, co-founder of Muntagnard, emphasizes: “Thanks to this campaign, we know exactly the quantity demanded. This allows us to avoid waste and stock due to overproduction while minimizing our financial risk. This leads to improved planning and allows us to offer the products at an attractive price.”
Using the Kickstarter platform, Muntagnard is, for the first time, offering its products to an international audience beyond Switzerland’s borders. The original target of the campaign was reached after less than 48 hours. The campaign runs until Sept. 24, 2023.
The MIUtec Iso collection is characterized by the fact that it consists exclusively of two mono-materials that are recyclable and more rapidly degradable. Muntagnard had already attracted interest in November 2022 with the MIUtec Iso Jacket winning the ISPO Award and the ISPO Public Choice Award. The jacket was recognized for its innovative design and consistent use of recyclable materials, making it one of the pioneers of the circular economy.
The new MIUtec Iso Vest is a sleeveless insulation vest ideal for cool evenings, a round of golf or as an extra layer under a coat. The MIUtec Iso Hooded Jacket is a lightweight all-season jacket that elegantly combines functionality and timeless design.
The new MIUtec models are based on the same material concept as its award-winning predecessor but come with a refined design and a wider range of functionality and uses. The two mono-materials used are recyclable and faster degradable: the insulation is made from a wood-based fiber, while a new type of faster-degradable polyamide is used for all other elements. All components comply with the Oeko-Tex Standard 100, and the main fabric and prints are Bluesign-approved.
