X-Technology Swiss, the company behind the X-Bionic and X-Socks ranges of performance sports products, is changing hands, but the identity of the new owner could not be determined at the time of going to press. Company officials said at the Ispo show in Munich two weeks ago that he is a well-known top executive with many years of experience in the international sports business.

Bodo Lambertz, the founder of X-Technology Swiss, is said to be moving to the U.S. to work on a new research and development project as a scientist. His son, Patrick Lambertz, left his position as chief operating officer of the company at the end of 2018 to spend more time on his passion for photography.

Pär Westerlind, who joined the company in January 2019 to work as deputy chief executive officer, after three years as creative director for Skins, will take on the role of chief executive of X-Technology. He will be aided as of next month by a yet unnamed executive board member and adviser.

X-Bionic announced a cooperation with Puma just before Ispo, but the details of the partnership have yet to be unveiled.

As we have previously reported, X-Technology went through a major structural change about one year ago after breaking up an important manufacturing and licensing agreement for the European market with Trerè Innovation, a high-end Italian knitter that is now pushing heavily its own brand, UYN, which stands for Unleash Your Nature. X-Technology has signed up new manufacturing partners for X-Bionic and X-Socks in Italy and restructured the distribution in Europe.
