Joining Nike, Adidas, Puma and Under Armour in their journeys into the metaverse, New Balance has filed trademark applications in the U.S. to extend its brand into virtual merchandise and services, including virtual footwear, apparel, sports bags, equipment and accessories. The three applications cover the New Balance trade name as well as two variations on the N logo. They specify their use in downloadable virtual products, virtual retail stores and entertainment services. No date has been given for the launch of New Balance branded NFT collectibles, but it should happen soon.
