Adidas and Allbirds have expanded their collaboration for low-carbon running shoes. Four new colorways of the Adizero x Allbirds 2.94 KG CO2E have been launched on adidas.com, allbirds.com, the Adidas and Allbirds apps and select Adidas and Allbirds stores globally. The new footwear drop is an evolution of the ”Futurecraft.Footprint” concept the two companies launched last year in order to join forces for the development of sustainable running footwear. According to the companies, each of the new shoes causes 63 percent less emissions than a comparable running shoe from the regular Adidas collections. Emissions of the shoes equate to 2.94 kg CO2e per pair, meaning it remains the only Adidas and Allbirds performance model to go below 3 kg CO2e. The shoes use bio-based EVA for the midsole, a thin outsole with recycled rubber content, no torsion bar and an upper material from recycled polyester and Lyocell.
