With the Covid-related postponement of the first Paddledays canoe show in Kassel, Germany, by one year to September 2022, a new player in the European paddling industry has stepped forward: The Paddle Sports Show in Lyon, France, wants to replace PaddleExpo in Nuremberg, Germany, which was held for the last time in 2019 after 15 years and cancelled for good due to the Covid pandemic. The new show in France will be held from Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 of this year. The organizer, Philippe Doux, founder of KS Publishing, an international paddlesports media company and publisher of the Kayak Session magazine, was a longtime partner of PaddleExpo. In addition, many of the paddling brands are customers of KS Publishing’s magazines and websites. According to Doux, the 7,000-square-meter hall in Lyon (La Halle Tony Garnier, 17 avenue Tony Garnier) was almost fully booked. New to the paddlesports industry is a series of webinars and conferences on all sorts of topics, including the industry’s future, the impact of Brexit on the market and other content.
