New Wave Group, the Swedish brands company that owns Craft, Cutter & Buck and several other operations, plans to buy Ahead, an American supplier of headwear and other products. Ahead, for which New Wave will pay $17.4 million, will fall under the auspices of a new subsidiary being set up within New Wave USA. Ahead makes men's apparel, Ahead headgear, Heavy Metal golf accessories, and Kate Lord hats, apparel and accessories for women. The company had sales of $32 million last year, with an operating profit of $2.7 million.
