Newton Running will be the sponsor for the 18th annual Aspen Medical Products San Diego Triathlon Challenge being held on Oct. 23. The event comprises a one-mile swim, a 44-mile bike race and a 10-mile run for the 125 physically challenged competitors and 550 able-bodied athletes and celebrities. Proceeds of the race go to the Challenged Athletes Foundation, which helps provide physically challenged athletes with the equipment and resources they need to remain active. The competitor who raises the most money at the triathlon wins an entry to the 2012 Ford Ironman World Championships. Newton Running is a gold sponsor, so 100 members of the Gold Team who raise $2,500 in pledges will all get a free pair of the company's Terra Momentus All-Terrain Trainers.
