Next Oct. 17 to 20, Madrid will be the venue for the 13th European Congress of the International Health and Racquet Sports Association (IHRSA). Organized by Management about Sports, the convention will handle various themes including the problem of obesity and the trend toward low-cost gyms. More than 500 owners of fitness and wellness clubs are expected to participate in the event, which will include a tour of local health clubs. All the conferences will be held in English. According to IHRSA, the European fitness and wellness industry comprises a total of 47,701 clubs with an annual turnover of €24.3 billion.
