Nicolas Berggruen, owner of Karstadt, and Andrew Jennings, who has been running the company for the past 20 months, have declared to the media over the past few weeks that they have no intention to divest its Karstadt Sports operation. They have plans to use more technology in the stores and to encourage customers to practice other sports.
