Nike and Apple have agreed to settle a lawsuit brought by consumers around the efficacy of the Nike+FuelBand. The class action lawsuit, which was first brought against Nike and Apple in 2013, alleged that the joint Nike-Apple fitness band was marketed on the basis of misleading claims regarding the band's ability to accurately track steps and calories, among other claims. Under the settlement, Nike has agreed to a partial refund for some consumers. The consumers who purchased the device between Jan. 19, 2012, and June 17, 2015, are eligible for a partial refund of either $15 or a $25 Nike gift card, as explained in the dedicated website http://nikefuelbandsettlement.com. Both Nike and Apple have denied the claims in the lawsuit and maintain that they did nothing wrong or illegal.
