Nike and Fanatics have inked a new agreement with the Yomiuri Giants, also known as Tokyo Giants, Japan’s most successful baseball team. The financial terms were not unveiled, nor was the duration of the agreement. As part of the deal, Nike will become the team’s official uniform supplier, while Fanatics will produce and distribute the replica uniforms and Nike-branded jerseys and apparel. Fanatics will also create collectibles for the fans. In addition to exclusive merchandising rights, the deal will see Fanatics exclusively operating the team’s e-commerce and physical retail businesses. The Tokyo Giants will be the first sports team outside the U.S. to implement this Nike-Fanatics model for sports and on-field merchandise.
