Nike filed a lawsuit against Skechers USA in Oregon's U.S. District Court on Jan. 4, claiming trademark infringement of the designs of its Flyknit shoes' uppers and soles, covered by several patents. The designs at issue are those of Skechers' Burst shoes, its Flex Appeal style for women, its Skech Appeal shoe for girls and its Flex Advantage models for men and boys. The Swoosh is seeking a permanent injunction and compensatory damages, which could reportedly add up to $10 million. Skechers has not yet commented.
