Nike has filed a 50-page complaint in a court in Oregon, seeking $10 million in damages from three designers - Denis Dekovic, Marc Dolce and Mark Miner - on eight charges including breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets and civil conspiracy. They have all been hired by Adidas to work in a new design studio in Brooklyn, New York, and Nike is seeking a court injunction to prevent the project from moving forward. Nike is charging that the three designers violated the non-competition clauses in their contracts by consulting for Adidas while still working for the Swoosh. Reacting to the charges, Adidas said it is attracting experienced talent from all over the world, but has no interest in old work or past assignments. Separately, Nike is also trying to prevent Dekovic from launching next year his own new shoe, the Moonwalker, inspired by the late Michael Jackson. Nike claims that it owns the related designs.
