Nike has reportedly acquired a minority stake in a Californian start-up, called Grabit, for less than $600,000. Grabit is described as a company that develops machinery in the fields of manufacturing and logistics and offers special products such as grippers and smart conveyors based on electrically controlled adhesion technologies. Grabit's offer promises to provide low-level energy consumption and enhanced automated manufacturing and logistic processes. Nike said that Grabit's innovations are still in an early stage of development, but comprise a range of applications that could be useful in the future.
