Nike is moving its Madrid headquarters from a town to the north of Madrid into a landmark building in the heart of the city. The new office will be in the Palacio del Marqués de Miraflores near the Prado Museum. The Iberian office remains in the region of Barcelona. The Swoosh says that the investment is meant to reinforce its “leadership” in the Spanish sporting goods market, which has been confirmed by the most recent retail audit of NDP Group as well as a independently commissioned study of youngsters' perceptions of various sports brands. Adidas says it is close to Nike based on NPD's consumer panel, however.
