Nike is introducing a global maternity training program to encourage more pregnant and postpartum women back into sport, dubbed Nike (M)ove Like a Mother. The training program includes cardio, strength training, mobility and yoga throughout every stage of pregnancy. The core of the program is a 24-workout prenatal and postpartum exercise plan. The workouts were designed by qualified trainers and assessed by an exclusive panel of five pregnancy experts, explained Nike. The postpartum program includes a six-week recovery program. The new (M)ove Like a Mother program addresses the problem of high dropout rates from exercise due to pregnancy. Research shows that pregnancy marks the second-highest dropout rate from training in a woman’s life, the company stressed in a statement. In September of 2020, Nike introduced the Nike (M) collection of maternity athletic clothing, which comprises pieces like sports bras, tanks, and leggings. The collection expanded in 2021 and is making its Asian debut this month.
