California-based, action sports-savvy watch brand Nixon is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a short film and a limited edition of the iconic The Player in its original form. To honor this milestone, Nixon has invited filmmaker Patrick O’Dell to capture the story and characters of the brand’s first 25 years. The film will be officially released on July 31, 2023.
From the early days of co-founders Andy Laats and Chad DiNenna, Nixon delivered its first watch in 1998. Fast forward 25 years later, Nixon’s lineage of athletes, musicians, and artists include Caity Simmers, Mike Diamond, Todd Richards, Nora Vasconcellos, Paul Rodriguez and Metallica, resulting in what has made Nixon culture stand out today, team designed and custom built.
To mark its 25th anniversary, Nixon has created a limited edition reissue of The Player watch. First introduced in 2005, the watch pays homage to a team favorite that has been a symbol of status and style for athletes, musicians and artists. The design combines the classic elements that made The Player a cultural favorite. The custom stainless steel case and bracelet, with a genuine diamond at the 6 and the original script version of the Nixon wordmark, will be available Aug. 2, 2023, on Nixon.com select and at specialty stores worldwide.
