French equipment maker Nolt is joining forces with ice hockey club Etoile Noire de Strasbourg during the 2023/24 season to introduce a new eco-friendly ice hockey kit entirely made from recycled polyester. Each jersey is made from 15 recycled plastic bottles.
Nolt stands for “Nothing is lost.” Nolt was founded in Nice in 2020 by Olivier Guigonis and Paul-Emmanuel Guinard as Phenix Sport with the objective of becoming a 100 percent circular sports equipment manufacturer. The company was renamed Nolt in 2021 to facilitate its European development and accelerate its digitalization. Its products are designed in France and manufactured in Europe (France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Latvia, and Bulgaria). They are made from plastic waste collected from bins and fished out of the Mediterranean Sea. Nolt’s garments feature a QR code that can be scanned at the end of the product’s life, allowing the user to send it back free of charge to the company, which will recycle it into sports cups for clubs.
Nolt is a technical partner of clubs in football, rugby, basketball, volleyball, handball, racquet sports, and athletics.
