Norrøna has opened a store in Chamonix, France. The investment was described as the first move in a new strategy to expand the company's retail network away from the saturated Norwegian market. It is also part of a plan to double the company's total sales by 2020. Last year, Norrøna's turnover was just shy of 600 million Norwegian kroner (€63.6m-$71.5m). The company's physical stores accounted for sales of NOK 145 million (€15.4m-$17.3m).
