Novak Djokovic, the Serbian tennis star, is no longer sponsored by Sergio Tacchini for clothing. The new sponsor is Uniqlo, the big Japanese sportswear brand, under a deal reported to be worth €6 million a year. Tadashi Yanai, chief executive of Fast Retailing, the company that owns Uniqlo, announced the contract in Paris on the eve of the Roland-Garros tennis tournament, where Djokovic started wearing a Uniqlo shirt. He will also sign a casual sportswear line marketed by Uniqlo and provide advice for product development. Uniqlo is also the apparel sponsor of Kei Nishikori, the best tennis player in Japan. It has been the official supplier of the Japanese Olympic team between 1988 and 2004.
